Product information
Create a vintage, crackled paint effect by applying this special two component system in conjunction with regular matt emulsion. The crackle base coat is sandwiched between two contrasting coloured layers of vinyl matt emulsion. Apply the protective crackle top coat over the crackled surface created with the base coat
- For use on Furniture
- The crackle base coat is sandwiched between two contrasting coloured layers of matt emulsion. The first coat of emulsion determines the colour of the crack and the second, the overall colour of the project. The first coat of emulsion should be brushed out and laid off in one direction as this determines the directional lines in the crackle. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, sound and free from grease or any other contamination
- Instructions for Use - Stir thoroughly before use. Brush apply the crackle base coat in the same direction as the first matt emulsion coat using a good quality brush. Ensure a smooth even film is produced. Allow the crackle base coat to dry for a minimum of 2 hours prior to applying the second coat of matt emulsion, which must be applied at right angles to the crackle base coat. It is advisable to thin the second coat of matt emulsion with up to 10% water to produce a free flowing paint. Load the brush with the thinned vinyl matt and apply in one pass. Overworking will impair the crackle effect. The thickness of the second coat of matt emulsion determines the size of the cracks. Allow the paint to dry, best results are obtained when the object being painted is lying flat when drying. The crackle effect must be protected with the crackle top coat.
